One of the neat things about coming back to my hometown is seeing what's new around the place - at least, what's new for me. Steve and I thought we'd try out Peak Pizza a few weeks ago and I knew right then that I needed to shout from the rooftops about these guys and their scrumptious food.
Owner Ira was happy to let me see 'behind the scenes' of his shop and photograph while he and Sian (pictured below) prepared pizzas for the night's orders. The menu has changed a bit over the years, but what's there now is happiness in a box.
I'm guessing most locals have tried Peak Pizza by now - they've been around for a few years, but if you're new to town or visiting, make sure you include them in your schedule. Just writing this blog is making me reconsider what's on the menu for tonight: their Mexican Chicken pizza is calling my name...
You can find them on Te Mata Rd, across from St Luke's church - just look for the happy-yellow delivery car outside the shop. Maybe I'll see you there.
