I'm killing two birds with one stone today. This week's Project 52 challenge is Red and it had me wondering what to do, until I went to the SPCA for my weekly session with our furry friends.
I've grown a bit of a soft spot for Pit Bulls, which started with the delightful Storm nearly a year ago - who, by the way, has been adopted and is living her happily ever after. This week I met the lovely five-month-old Hero who is a little on the shy side at the moment; nothing a caring home can't fix. He's well-mannered, coming along nicely with his obedience lessons and he's what the SPCA calls a 'green dog', which means he is "dog social, okay with cats and good with children".
I think it was that little tongue just sticking out that made me decide to showcase Hero in his own blog post. How can you not like a dog that cute and silly?!
A red-nosed Pit Bull with a gentle expression - not such a surprise after all. Because the stories you hear about them are the exception, not the rule. Given a loving home, these dogs are loyal, affectionate and eager to please. Like any dog, they need good training so they can feel like they're part of the family. For information on adopting Hero, please visit him at the Waikato SPCA.
Next up in the P52 circle is Cincinnati pet photographer, Suzi Pix Photography - let's go see what she has. Keep clicking through the circle of international photographers until you arrive back here.
